6 steps if you lost your passport (for Malaysians)

2 days prior to our trip to Jakarta / Bandung, we found that my husband passport was lost. These are 6 simple steps you should do if this happen to you.

1. Make an immediate police report. Identify possible reason for the lost.
2. Go to the nearest Immigration office and inform the officer in charge that you would like to apply for a replacement passport.
3. Fill up the form, and get the commissioner of oath to stamp on it.
4. Bring 2 passport size photos dan submit the completed form to the Immigration Office.
5. You will get your passport within a day if the passport has expired.
6. You will get your passport within 5 working days (in Manjung) if your passport is still valid.

It is advisable that you call your airline to postpone the trip if possible, make sure the new travel date is decided before you call. We were charged RM150/pax for penalty.

You also have to be ready to be investigated by the Immigration Officer before they make a new passport issuance if necessary.

Please keep your passport in good place as if you are not lucky, the procedure will not be that easy for a replacement.
